Kensington: Proposed Entrance to an Apartment Building
Visualiser: Jonathan Pyecroft

Computer generated visuals can be a splendid means of communicating a proposal. This entrance is currently dark and entirely lacking in timber, and will remain so until our design is built. As with all our work, the aim is not to 'prettify' but to make a place where before there was only a space. At certain times of the day and year, the sun falls on the right hand side of the entrance. By proposing a bench there, we are creating an opportunity for residents or visitors to sit, to enjoy the warmth, to wait for a friend or to chat to a passer-by. For those who know their architectural history, the bench is indeed derived from Gunnar Asplund's in Stockholm's Woodland Cemetery.
